Since 1991 I have helped build one of the leading diversified agricultural and food companies in Latin America, with interests in bananas, vegetable oil, food ingredients, vegetable protein, transportation, logistics and renewable energy. AgroAm\u00e9rica has operations in Guatemala, the United States, Continental Europe, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Argentina and Panama.<\/p>\n

For the past 20 years, I have also led strategic investments in the Food and Beverage industry, Precision Agriculture, Entertainment Business, and the Energy Sector.<\/p>\n

What do I believe in?<\/h1>\n

I believe in alliances with interest groups (stakeholders) and local actors. Working hand in hand is the only way to resolve local development issues.<\/p>\n

The communities near the operations of the company I run (AgroAm\u00e9rica) have little or no access to basic public services and most of our workers live in those communities. I understood that we cannot be successful and sustainable in the area, in the long term, if our immediate communities do not develop with us. I learned that if our people have health, education and opportunities, they will perform better. Therefore, social investment benefits us all.<\/p>\n

The reason for this Blog<\/h1>\n

Through years of work experience and as a speaker at world conferences, I have learned that sustainability must be in the DNA of companies to be successful. Through this blog I want to share my knowledge and experiences in sustainability, which can help and inspire large entrepreneurs, but also small entrepreneurs who start their businesses and do not know which route to take.<\/span><\/p>\n
